Instructional Program - Grades K, 1 & 2
Instructional is our foundational program which provides a recreational basketball opportunity to any and all kids - regardless of experience or talent level. This is the level for all kids to learn the game, hone their skills, learn about competition and sportsmanship and, most importantly have fun! ALL kids will get an opportunity to learn about the game. Kids are encouraged to play all positions and develop all-around basketball skills. Our goal is to improve every child's understanding and love of the game while they get great exercise.
Divisions:
- Co-Ed - Kindergarten (Instructional) - Cost $50
- Practices -Tuesdays, June 24th to August 12th for a half hour between 5:30-6pm.
- This group will be parent lead, we will need parent volunteers in order to run this group. Please consider signing up to be a volunteer. The volunteer registration is listed as a menu item on this site.
- Boys - Grades 1 & 2 (Instructional) - Cost $50
- Practices - Tuesdays, June 24th to August 12th for one hour between 6-8pm. Players will be assigned to one of our practice time slots, either 6-7pm or 7-8pm. (Specific practice times will be emailed to parents after we finish registration)
- Girls - Grades 1 & 2 (Instructional) - Cost $50
- Practices -Tuesdays, June 24th to August 12th between 5-6pm.
Instructional Program Information:
- This is an instructional program
- Repeated & detailed training on core fundamentals of basketball: Ball Handling, Shooting, Rebounding, Defense
- We will work towards getting the players into small sided games and scrimmaging as the season progresses.
- Recreation leaders will provide the instruction for the 1st and 2nd grade program. Parent volunteers will lead the Kindergarten program.
